What I'm Watching Now... (Older post)

Secrets (Secret Love)

Min-Hyuk was born into a wealthy family. He has everything including good looks, intelligence, but he doesn't have kindness. He loses his girlfriend in a hit-and-run accident. Yoo-Jung goes to prison, because of the hit-and-run accident that killed Min-Hyuk's girlfriend. Her boyfriend is the one that actually committed the hit-and-run accident, but Yoo-Jung took the blame. She is then betrayed by her boyfriend.

Stars
Ji Sung as Jo Min-Hyuk
Hwang Jung Eum as Kang Yoo-Jung
Bae Su Bin as Ahn Do-Hoon
Lee Da Hee as Shin Se-Yeon
What do I like about it: Well, any project of my girl, Jung Eum, I'm pretty much going to watch it. Add Ji Sung, I get curiouser but top that off with Bae Su Bin, I'm pretty much going to watch. Here's hoping it doesn't disappoint. Not sure I've ever dropped a Jung Eum drama but I have the other two!
Sweet Springs
A drama about the lead adopted character going through confusion between his real family and adopted family but then finds his true identity by making his own family.

Stars
Yu Geon as Han Jae Seong
Park Se Young as Choi Se Yeong
What do I like about it: The total draw to this is Se Young. After Faith and her little bitty part in Equator Man, I had said that I would watch her next drama that she was the lead in. Yes, another daily drama with 120 episodes but I have been looking for this for a long time so as soon as Gu Am Heo Joon (see below) ends, this is the replacement.
Two Weeks
The story revolves around a woman who can see ghosts and a man who tries to protect her, and is described as a drama with horror and romantic elements infused together. So Ji Sub plays the miserly, greedy, and conceited CEO Joo Joong Won, who measures all human relationships through money. Gong Hyo Jin will play the melancholy and tearful assistant Tae Gong Shil, who is able to see ghosts after an accident and thus suffers from insomnia.

Stars
So Ji Sub as Joo Joong Won
Gong Hyo Jin as Tae Gong Sil
Seo In Guk as Kang Woo
Kim Yoo Ri as Tae Yi Ryeong
What do I like about it: I don't do horror unless forced to. But this is MAD fun to watch!! Hyo Jin js seriously playing her role as Gong Sil!! She is hilariously funny!! Ji Sub, well, playing an arrogant ass is not exactly a stretch for him but he is making it fun!

Master's Sun
The story revolves around a woman who can see ghosts and a man who tries to protect her, and is described as a drama with horror and romantic elements infused together.

Stars:
So Ji Sub as Joo Joong Won
Gong Hyo Jin as Tae Kong Sil
Seo In Guk as Kang Woo
Park Hee Bon as Tae Gong Ri
What do I like about it: Haven't started it yet but it only took two names to be in the cast: So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin! That's enough for me!!

Goddess of Fire, Jeongi
The series is about Baek Pa Seon’s life and love. She was the first and the best female potter in the Joseon Dynasty period. After she got kidnapped to Japan during a war, she demonstrated the superiority of Joseon potters in Japan. Depending on how well it is made, it can be as popular as Dae Jang Geum, which was very popular all over the world.

Stars:
Moon Geun Young as Yoo Jeong
Lee Sang Yoon as Prince Gwanghae
Kim Bum as Kim Tae Do
What do I like about it: It's all about Moon Geun Young for me! She is the reason I am watching this. Sometimes you can't help being a fan and as a fan you will watch anything by a favorite actor!

Gu Am Heo Joon
The drama will tell the life story of Heo Joon, from dramatic childhood to royal physician. He became a court physician during the reign of King Seonjo (latter half of the 16th century), and went on to write what would become the defining text of traditional Korean medicine. The groundbreaking thing about it at the time was that he wrote it in Hangul, so that medicine could be understood and learned by commoners, as was his hope.

Stars:
Kim Ju Hyuk as Heo Joon
Park Jin Hee  as Ye Jin
Nam Goong Min as Yoo Do Ji
Park Eun Bin as Da Hee

What do I like about it: What is not to love about two of my favorite drama genres combined into one drama. Heo Jun is based on a real person in history. Even though this is a daily drama with 100 episodes, I can tell you that so far, it has been extremely interesting with an excellent cast. Kim Ju Hyuk, I've not liked a role since the movie, "Love Me Not". Another thing I like about this drama is that the lead character, Heo Joon has already established a relationship with his wife in the drama, Da Hee. The only romantic entanglement is with Ye Jin and Do Ji. Nam Goong Min is excelling as the evil, jealous Do Jin. So far, there is nothing lovable about him or his family.

Bravo My Life/Ugly Alert
People, who have different lives, become a family because of their parents. They sometimes look down on other family members and jealous of other family members. Through all of this, they get to understand each other and cure their wounds. A man, in particular, goes through infinite sacrifices.

Stars:
Im Joo Hwan as Gong Joon Soo
Kang So Ra as Na Do Hee
Choi Yoon Young as Gong Jin Joo
Choi Tae Joon as Gong Hyeon Seok
Shin So Yool as Shin Joo Yeong
Seol Hyun as Gong Na Ri
Kim Young Hoon as Han Seo

What do I like about it: Im Joo Hwan was the main reason why I wanted to watch this. I've been saying for awhile that he needed to have his leading role drama! So far, it is very good! His character, Joon Soo, is probably one of the sweetest, wronged person you'll ever see in a drama. His love for his family of siblings cannot be compared. His story has got to be one of the saddest but his heart is so pure. The romance between Joon Soo and Do Hee, so far, is very cute. Sure, there is definitely going to be some interference from other characters, especially his step brother, Hyeon Seok and BY Group attorney, Han Seo who basically thinks he owns Do Hee. So the arrogant butt in this story, for once, is not the lead. The female is a strong, let me say it again, STRONG female!

Other non-Korean dramas: Seinaru Kaibutsutachi (or Sacred Monsters on viki). This is a wild medical drama! Who knew surrogacy was illegal in Japan!

Plan to Watch Next

Unemployed Romance- Finally! Nam Goong Min gets a lead. Granted it is a short drama of 12 episodes but what a start; a romance!!
Medical Top Team-Weeeellllllll, Only one name will make me watch: Jung Ryeo Won but add Joo Ji Hoon and that is enough for me.
Basketball-Simply for DoJi Han who did an excellent job in Incarnation of Money and I LOVE sports themed movies (always) and dramas (sometimes)
Empress Ki-Ha Ji Won, enuf said!
The Queen's Classroom-Two of my favorite little ladies are in it; Kim Sae Ron and Seo Shin Ae!

  1. I Summon You Gold sounds the complicated thoughtful type... :S

  2. Not as complicated as you would think. It's actually an easy drama to watch, surprisingly.

  3. Don't bother with Last Boringella, it's the bottom down of Spring dramas of 2013.
