Rain joins Bruce Willis in the Action Thriller, ""The Prince"
Rain Joins Bruce Willis, John Cusack in 'The Prince'
The 31-year-old, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, joins cast members Jason Patric, John Cusack, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and Jonathon Schaech, his local agency Cube DC said Tuesday. Production is slated to begin after Thanksgiving in Mobile, Alabama. Randall Emmett, George Furla, Adam Goldwormm, Pak Ho-Sung, and Fred Song are producing the film. Korea-based Union Investment Partners is also producing and financing the project, which is budgeted in the $10 million range.
Rain made his Hollywood debut in the Wachowski Bros.' Speed Racer and went on to play the lead in Ninja Assassins, also directed by the siblings. The Miller film marks his first project since being discharged from mandatory military service in Korea in July.
Jason Patric will play Paul, a retired mob enforcer who is forced to return to Las Vegas when his daughter goes missing. There, he must confront old enemies, including Omar – played by Willis – who has waited years for the opportunity to settle a score. Details of Cusack’s role have yet to be confirmed, but we understand that Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Escape Plan), Johnathon Schaech (Ray Donovan), Gia Mantegna (The Frozen Ground), and actor/singer Rain (Speed Racer) will round off The Prince‘s ensemble cast. A lot of actors, but seemingly just the right mix of big names and musicians-turned-actors.

My Thoughts: This might explain why we haven't heard of any more projects in South Korea. I wasn't expecting him to do a drama but now it makes the most sense. As a HUGE fan of Bruce Willis, I think I will be looking forward to this, especially where he is playing the rare BAD guy. Add John Cusack to the mix, it becomes a MUST-SEE! Alas, it is not the Ninja Assassins 2 as I and others had hope but baby steps....I'll accept this. More to come!!
